David's Fig Leaf

In my book David's Dilemma, the main character David began his modeling career by posing as the famous David statue by Michelangelo, but does in fact wear a fig leaf. This little quirk is something that is in fact rooted in true historical fact, the cast of the statue of David when presented to Queen Victoria was provided with a fig leaf to save the blushes of the young women visiting the museum.
You can read a little more about it here: http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/d/davids-fig-leaf/

David's Dilemma

David's Dilemma is a story for the dog lover in all of us. A romantic comedy that I hope will warm your heart. Here is the synopsis, and below you will find a story board of visual images to accompany the story.

What’s a girl to do when a cheerful dog loving male supermodel arrives at her door ready for daily voice lessons? Definitely do not fall in love with him

Small town Drama and English Literature teacher Marylou Townsend has been recruited by her childhood best friend—now Hollywood agent—Serena, to train supermodel ‘David’ for his role as the voice of a new line of audio books, whose studios are currently located in their home town of Telusa, Nevada.

Marylou does her best to treat the easygoing and playful world famous supermodel as nothing more than a student and friend, he is so far out of her league, she is convinced that sooner or later he will get bored and miss his Hollywood lifestyle, despite his daily voice lessons and the madcap antics of the two loveable mutts Dane and Scruffy. Unaware that David is rapidly falling in love with her, and the real reason he is continually extending his stay in town is for her, Marylou resolutely keeps her own growing feelings hidden and firmly keeps David at arm’s length, and absolutely nothing he does seems to get through to her.

Can David persuade the adorable Marylou that he really is a small town guy at heart and there really are no leagues, only love?

A contemporary romantic comedy of approximately 63,000 words

A friends-to-lovers romance

A romance for dog lovers

Princess

Princess

Even though English was not Dr. Celinia DeForlani’s first language, she spoke it like a native. So why, when she encountered gorgeous dark haired green-eyed rugby player Bradlan Myers did she have such a hard time getting his name right?

It was her final day working at the small London dental clinic before returning home to her life as Princess Royal of Isola DeMarina, and the very last thing she expected was to find her remaining hours filled with the captain of the Norfolk Reds rugby team when he came through her door missing his two front teeth.

Celinia, who’d always had a mischievous and somewhat quirky sense of humor, struggles to cover her laughter as the big handsome somewhat cranky sportsman attempts to speak to her and can barely spit out a word coherently. The two communicate by written notes until she begins working on his teeth. He is due to play the saxophone at his sister’s wedding in only a few hours, and not only must he have his teeth fixed in time, he cannot have any anesthetic. Celinia speaks softly and reassuringly to him, as she works, though she continually mistakenly calls him Bradley.

Dental assistant Gloria Lewis is not only quick to correct her, but stunned that Celinia has no idea who Bradlan is. The man is world famous, as much for his looks as his rugby skills. He has graced the covers of more magazines than anyone can count. But Celinia has been far too busy working and studying the past few years to pay attention to such things.

The following morning when Celinia stops by the clinic on her way to the airport to say goodbye to the kind dentist who has been her boss for the past year, she discovers that Bradlan has sent her flowers. Though she cannot take them on the plane, she does take the card. And is amused to discover he has signed himself ‘Bradley’.

When Celinia arrives home, she relates the tale of Bradlan’s sudden last minute arrival in her office to her parents. Her sports loving father King Ricardo instantly recognizes the name, and the twinkle in his daughter’s eye as she speaks of the handsome athlete and sets about issuing an invitation for the Norfolk Reds to come to the island to play against his own team the King’s Warriors...
A mischievous matchmaking king, a beautiful princess, a superstar rugby player, a naughty Siamese cat and three jealous courtiers make up the novel Princess.

Just for fun-A little visual imagery to accompany the story

In February I updated, edited and reposted my novel Princess on Amazon. Though the novel is purely a text only novel, I decided to create a few images here that if you have read the book you will recognize as scenes and views of the island where Princess Celinia lives. If you haven't yet read the book, I hope you will pick up a copy and leave a review. If you'd like to leave a comment here you are most welcome. Thanks!

Bradlan Myers

The last thing Princess Celinia expected was to fall in love with
superstar rugby player Bradlan Myers
Ancient Castello DeForlani of Isola DeMarina, the royal family
no longer live here, they live at the palace
The King's Harbor, or Il Porto Del Re

Though smaller ships and the royal yacht can anchor in the harbor,
the harbor is too shallow for the larger cruise ships to enter, they
must anchor off shore and ferry their passengers to the island
The Royal Yacht
Aerial views of the harbor with the sister islands in the distance
The quaint old wharf, where the smaller vessels and houseboats reside
View of Isola DeMarina from the King's Observatory
The view from Enrico's Villa
The cable car or funivia one must take to reach Enrico's villa
The rocky coastline of Isola DeMarina
Azzurro, the royal cat (Il Gatto Reale)
How could anyone resist this furry face? Clever enough to win over an entire team of rugby players, serve as a therapy cat at Celinia's clinic, and also act as a matchmaker!
Azzurro, about to get into mischief!

Who is your favorite character?

In my novel Princess, do you have a favorite character? Is it the sweet and lighthearted Princess Celinia? The larger than life and fun loving King? His sweet and understanding wife Queen Delicia, or Bradlan, the world famous rugby player? Did you fall in love with one of Celinia's childhood friends, Enrico, Jordan or Saxonby? Or did you succumb to the furry feline Azzurro?

A sequel?

Thank you to everyone who has read my novel Princess, and to those who have asked, yes, there will be a sequel! After all, we do need to know what happens to Princess Celinia's three childhood friends. Enrico, Jordan and Saxonby. They have great potential for mischief, don't you think?
The sequel is several months away however, as I have been finishing two other novels, not in this series. I'll keep you posted.
